Kristin Brown invited members to share their “Rotary Moments” with each other around their tables. Each table selected a recorder who submitted the following comments:
“Going to India to personally see great results from our money.”
“Meeting the recipients of our grant."
“Taking exchange students.”
“Rebuilding Together (formerly known as "Christmas in April”)
“Being one of the founding members of the Lighthouse Club and remembering the first meetings.”
“Selling hot dogs and drinks at ‘The World’s Largest Garage Sale’ as the first club fundraiser.”
“Wanting to be a part of fellowship.”
“Continuing a family tradition – father hosted meetings in the family’s basement."
“My Rotary moment will be sailing this weekend.”
“Taking my son to help with Campus Kitchens and having a conversation with a blind resident.”
“Seeing 80-year-old Rotarian helping children in Nigeria get water."
“Having been a Rotary Scholar and seeing how Rotary represented my values in the world."
“Being able to link similar organizations with Rotary – such as Allowance for Good, Globe Med.”
“Continuing a family tradition of service by being a Rotarian.”
“Washing dishes for two hours at a soup kitchen.”
“Rotarians do what governments can’t/won’t do.”
“Being welcomed as a “normal’ member of the Frankfurt, Germany, Rotary Club.”
“Make-ups.”
“Sponsoring a new member.”
“Administering polio vaccinations on the ground in India, Madagascar, etc.”
“Singing the Indian National Anthem.”
“Participating in ‘Rebuilding Together,’ first with my father and then with the club.”
“Creating a Rotaract Club in Budapest.”
