Land acknowledgement – Georgia
“We acknowledge that Evanston and Rotary International sit on the traditional homelands of the people of the Council of Three Fires, the Ojibwe, Potawatomi, and Odawa, as well as the Menominee, Miami, Ho-Chunk, and other tribal nations. It was also a site of trade, travel, gathering, and healing for more than a dozen other native tribes. More than 65,000 Native Americans currently live in the Chicago metro area. We are grateful to be here.”
