Join us on Saturday, September 26 to visit one of Rotary's most meaningful historic sites: the Paul & Jean Harris Home in Chicago's historic Morgan Park neighborhood. Our tour guide, PDG Chuck Corrigan spoke about the home at the ELRC club meeting on July 21. His presentation includes many photos of the home.
Step inside the home where Paul and Jean Harris welcomed guests from near and far and demonstrated the Rotary values we continue to embrace today. Through stories of fellowship, hospitality, service, and international goodwill, you'll gain a deeper appreciation for the people and relationships that helped Rotary become a worldwide force for good.
Whether you're a longtime Rotarian or a newer member, this tour offers the opportunity to better understand how one man's vision of friendship evolved into a global humanitarian movement and how Jean Harris helped create a home that welcomed the world. We hope you can join us!
Following our 10:30 am tour we'll enjoy a box lunch in the Rotary room. From there, for those interested, we'll head to Paul Harris' memorial at Mount Hope Cemetery and then to the Pullman National Historic Park for a self-guided tour (Go to App Store or Google Play to download the NPS app. It has an outstanding self-guided tour of the Pullman National Historic Park). Box Lunches: when registering, select your preference: baked ham, roast beef or roast turkey with potato salad, bag of chips, freshly baked cookie and bottle of water.
NOTICE: This event is limited to 50 people, Rotarians and partners. When the registration count reaches 50, registrants will be on a wait list. Registration fees will be refunded to those who cannot participate due to our limited capacity.
A list of attendees will be distributed to all registrants to facilitate carpooling.
